The Lowveld Bug has bitten

I am fortunate to have met the lovely lowveld and all it's glory and intricate beauty a couple of months ago... Wow what a place! Possibly the best in SA I have come across in my lifetime; I might even go as far as saying one of the nicest places in the world! Well maybe not 'nice' as the lady down the street is nice , a cuppa tea is nice... so rather one of the most extraordinary places ;-) and a little piece of heaven.

I guess it's like living by the sea, where if one stays near it for a while, one starts to take its beauty for granted and have to make a point of appreciating it.
Well I think part of this little letter goes out to all the fortunate "lowveld livers" to remind you that your hometown is a massive blessing from Above and that you absolutely must make effort to appreciate it. And the other part is probably to share a little of my experience of its magic with the not-so-fortunate public.

From the gorgeous Caster bridge centre with all its authentic shops to the absolute best selection of films (and popcorn) at the local cinema, to sushi at Fez and bacon and egg panninis at Zannas To buying that winning item @ the antique store. Not to even mention the most amazing other activities just a few kilometres away.

To finding parts of a lost soul amongst the pebbles in the crystal clear river streams and picking up missing pieces of ones being on the pine needle blanket whilst gazing into the humid sun rays through the tree shadows.

Autumn leaves on sunlit grass fields and silver lined treetops with ice white clouds painting the sky, friends with which you could take on the Colosseum gladiators, the fish eagle's notes in the day's song and natural water features tricking down mountain rocks ... these are just a few of the things that makes me love it so much.

Where peace and tranquillity has new meaning and gracious living comes naturally. Where the important things in life are revealed. And where belonging comes to all that are seeking it.

It's a place where music dances and people smile, dogs are happy and cats, well, are cats. Where misty waters are real and gnomes come alive; Where butterflies make babies and birds compose masterpieces.

Love it, live it and breath it. And breath again.

And so the blessings continue ... Oh ... did i mention you live in Heaven!?

All my love Tash
